Woodville Elementary School (WES) recently took part in the Earth Rangers Battery Blitz School Mission Contest!
Throughout the month of October, the school community was tasked with collecting as many used household batteries as possible to recycle in the school’s Call2Recycle collection boxes. Participating elementary schools across Ontario will compete to see who can collect the most used batteries for a chance to win one of seven prizes.
In total, WES collected 46 boxes full of used batteries!
As part of the initiative, the school received a Earth Rangers School Assembly on October 18, where students and staff learned about how to be a helper and protector of the earth so our animals can grow and thrive.
The school is still awaiting the results of this contest, but are in awe at the participation from the students and community.
